THE MAN IN THE WHEEL CHAIR (this is part of SUBWAY DATE 2)
Ok, so I decide to take my date to the street fair on Madison Ave. I need a watch so I can tell the time to all the street people that ask me. This happens to me alot. Where ever I go, someone all most always askes for the time. I guess its because smoking is banned from alot of places and no one asks me for a light anymore. Do I smoke, only sometimes. Gave it up for years but that craving is still there. Oh, that is another post! The cost of cigarettes and the man on the street!
Anyway back to "THE MAN IN THE WHEEL CHAIR"...Yippee! I found some cheap watches!!! and the crowd that was there, I had to wait to get into a space to see any of the display watches. I finally get there and my date is with me. We found a small space (kind of like a space in a subway train in Ny!) to view the cool cheap $10 watches. I am in the process of asking if there was a deal to buy 2 to the seller behind the watches when I hear a voice say a few times and really sad...'CAN I GET IN PLEASE, CAN I GET IN PLEASE?" I turn around to see where this sad voice is comming from. It is an older man in a wheel chair. I felt so sorry for him. No one else turned around. I said "Sure, take my spot" and I turned to my friend to say "Let's come back" and I began to walk away..did you know that this MAN was now (by the miracle of watches!!!) was getting up from his wheel chair with both feet on the gound and proceeded to take my space. I was so not happy that I turned to my friend and said "LOOK!!! HE IS NOT CRIPPLED!!!" Then we both laughed and remembered the time I took a photo of a church with a man in front of it with a sign in cardboard and a milkcrate. The sign said "I can't walk, please help." At that time I was NOT photographing him but the church. He though I was and by the MIRACLE (Again it happened!!!)he got up and was yelling across the street (where I was) I want $5 for that photo...well that story is posted on my web
I want $5 for that...Maybe it's my energy and I can cure people that are in wheel chairs and don't even know it!!!! No, I know I don't have that power...Not crippled, still laughing at this one...only in New York! I love it here and may God Bless!!!
