It happened on Aug. 3, 2006...On the 100 degree plus days and there is no electric for almost 20 hours...I was in my apartment on the top floor. I always have candles and a flashlight in the apt and carry a small one with me. Its for those times i am in the subway and it stops and its dark and my heart beats fast ...I have fully come to appreciate electric for everything it does. Being up on the top floor of my building it was so hot that even the sofa felt like it was melting. I went to a friends place to cool off for a while my friend does not live in the same area and had electric to recharge my phone and stay cool.
Many thanks to Con-Ed for all their efforts to fix the problems. I really appreciate the workers in the extreme heat underground trying their best, and they did. Thank you.
What a relief it is today to have the electric. Today I am thankful for everything associated with electric and me not getting stuck in the underground subway.. ***Speedy
